STEVEN IS OFF THE STREET! Steven is a 73 year old Veteran from Ohio. He retired on a military disability and somehow decided to come to CA for the weather. I received a call for help from Cristine Deady Edwards, she found him sitting on a bench. I called the Long Beach Rescue Mission asking for a bed and as usual, they said yes. We rushed over. Upon entering, they greeted him, gave him food and water, and asked him if he wanted a shower and some new clothing. He felt safe. As I was leaving he asked if he would see me again, I assured him I was not going anywhere!
Thank you LBRM for your open heart and the love you freely offer!!!

ROSAMARIE IS GOING TO HER NEW JOB & HOME!!
I received a call from the Long Beach Rescue Mission asking for assistance to send Rosamarie to her new job. She arrived in Long Beach from New York 10 months ago. The Long Beach Rescue Mission took her in. They provided her with skills, assistance to find a job and housing. We were able to provide the transportation. Rosamarie is a very kind person. She is truly grateful and would love to hear your well wishes and prayers. I will send them to her after she is settled in.
We could not do this without your assistance.

THANK YOU LONG BEACH RESCUE MISSION!!
DENNIS HAS BEEN HIT BY A CAR TWICE! I was at Rec Park to help Randy go home. Dennis came to me asking for help. He was difficult to understand. He showed me his trach scar and the monitor leads still attached to his chest. He said he had been living in the car with his father. He is almost 50. He was run over for the second time. There was no help from the shelter, but QOL Officer Stahmann did help. I reached out to Pastor Levine at the Long Beach Rescue Mission. He said, "Bring him over." Just like that, Dennis has a chance! First, everyone welcomed him, and then they offered food. Dennis has a long road ahead of him but thanks to QOL Officer and the Long Beach Rescue Mission, he now has a chance. Please send him your well wishes, and I will make sure he gets them.😊
Thank you LBPD Quality Of Life!!

JASON WAS IN BIXBY PARK AND ASKED FOR HELP WITH REHAB. Quality of Life Officer James called to see if we could put him in a motel, because there are no shelter beds available. Jason was so grateful he did not want to impose by having us provide food. Tomorrow we will work to get him into rehab and on his way back to his life. He gave me a big hug and said thank you as we left. Please share your good wishes.

MINDY FELT DESPERATE TODAY, SHE & BUSTER ARE NOW SAFE IN THE MOTEL. Mindy has been homeless for over a year with her two dogs. Having the two dogs disqualified her for assistance, even though they are very small. Quality of Life Officer James found her in tears in Bixby Park because someone had taken one of her dogs. Mindy just needs help but no help is available. We put her in the motel for the next two days while we look for options.
The Quality Of Life and MET units save lives, reduce crime and chaos by doing their jobs! Thank you know they care!!

JOSHUA WENT TO REHAB! Joshua is 40 years old and originally from Oregon. He has been in several areas of the South Bay & LB. His car broke down on Park and Colorado. After over two weeks of living in the car, Paul, one of the neighbors called asking for assistance for Joshua. He needed an alternator and agreed he needed rehab. I ordered the alternator and contacted a rehab contact. Gary, another neighbor helped Joshua fix his car and Paul escorted him to Culver City for rehab. Sometimes it takes a Village to get people help and off the streets. Thank you, Paul, Gary and James QOL.

MARVIN IS NOW SAFE AT THE LONG BEACH RESCUE MISSION!
I received a call at 9:00 p.m. Friday night, asking if I could bring food to a homeless man placed in the motel. I'm unable to drive at night, but I went by Sunday morning. The fellow needing food was not there, but the motel asked if I could make arrangements to feed Marvin. Fortunately, Domino's has been wonderful, allowing food deliveries on the house as long as I have people in a motel. Marvin was dropped off by his caseworker from San Diego. He has a Housing Voucher but no deposit. Marvin has diabetes and has lost half of his foot. He is a very kind, spiritual man. I asked him what the plan was for Monday morning when he had to be out of the motel. He said he was waiting for God to deliver one. I called Pastor Russell, and he asked me when I could bring Marvin over. We loaded up his wheelchair and belongings Monday morning. He was welcomed with open arms and will be safe at the LB Rescue Mission until we get his living situation figured out.
